Christmas Wrap

I am always bothered by the paper waste of wrapping presents. After Christmas this year I found some cotton Christmas fabric on clearance. I bought it up to make gift bags.

I did follow an Ellie & Mac pattern for this first batch, but it is not really necessary. It is a simple drawstring bag.

I think I had about 1 1/2 yards of this fabric and I was able to cut out 1 XL bag, 2 large bags, 1 medium and 3 of the tiniest size.

This is all the fabric I had left after all the cutting.

The next item is to find more grosgrain ribbon. I used up what I had in my sewing room from Christmas 2023 clearance ribbons. I have more clearance fabric to cut up. This will probably be a project where I spend a day cutting everything out and leave it by my serger to work on a piece or two at a time.

As an aside I just do not understand the gnome obsession. They seem to be everywhere in the crafting world, even on fabric. I personally find them just a tad creepy.
