Easter Dress
I watched a live a few weeks ago from Olga’s Closet. I snagged a great deal on blue flowered DBP (double brushed polyester). I thought it would make a beautiful Yasmin dress.
I made a Sinclair Patterns Yasmin dress last year and I love the look of the dress. I thought I would try it again. I really do not follow the pattern directions. Katrina from Lifting Pins & Needles did a Youtube tutorial on how to make the bodice and her version is just stunning and easy to follow.
The “hardest” portion of this pattern is the bodice. I lined the front and back bands with a heavier weight knit for structure and stability. I did not include pockets in this version. On my first version I was not crazy about the line of the pockets on the sides of the dress.
This has to be one of the few dresses I have made without pockets. I also lengthened the sleeves to elbow length.
Of course, this version did not go together quite as well as the first version. Mostly because I was a little too confident based on the fact that I made the pattern before. (Pride goeth before a fall). It turned out cute and wearable. I wore it as my Easter dress. I really like this pattern and will be making it again.
