FO Friday
I love self striping yarn and especially a good Advent sock skein. I finally a month late finished my 2024 Christmas Advent socks. The pattern I used was the Heel Toe Doe Si Do by the Crazy Sock Lady. The yarn is from Freckled Whimsy.
Of course the knitting could not be without drama! The first modification was to not continue the pattern on the foot portion. I did not realize until I began knitting my own socks what spoiled, pampered feet I possess.
The last pair I made with this pattern hurt my foot on the top when they are in my shoes. They rub and I find them uncomfortable. That pair have been demoted to wear around the house socks.
Then Little Miss Too Smart For Her Own Good made the foot beds totally different. On the first of the pair I did my normal princess sole (see above comment on pampered feet). I totally forgot while I was knitting on the second one. I realized I had not done a princess bottom when I was already 10 rounds into the foot. I did not want to frog back 10 rounds with ssks involved. I will somehow manage to live with roughness on my pampered toes.
Then when I was beginning the toe decreases I only decreased on the bottom of the sock not the top. Again did not notice until I was already 5 rounds in - again no frogging! One of the socks is slightly longer than the other. I’ll manage with the disappoint. I just love the colors in the socks - so cheerful.
