Mini Backpack

I saw a video from the Crafty Reporter where she sewed up the Bitty Bug Backpack pattern by Carolina Little Stitches. It looked super adorable and a project I thought I could complete. I was correct on both points.

Carolina Little Stitches has patterns (some of which are SVG - means you can cut using Cricut), notions and just a ton of great tools for sewists. I bought the pattern. I did upload the pattern pieces into Cricut Design Space but actually did my cutting by hand.

It really is quite an easy project - looks way harder than it is. If you have made a bag before this should be easy. I chose to do the chunky version. This is not a super quick project due to the fact that no fast sewing should occur.

I selected a Halloween print for my first attempt from my vast array of faux leather. For the woven inside I used scraps of a black cat fabric I had on hand.

I will need to buy wider fold over elastic. 1/2 inch is just not wide enough to cover the insides. It was a very fun project to complete and I love the finished look.
