Swim Cover Up
Well a swim cover up was not on any of my sewing bucket lists. My family and I escaped to San Diego for a few days of Spring Break. I just bought a new one piece bathing suit for myself. Since we were staying at a fancier hotel with a lovely pool I thought a new cover up was in order.
I had just purchased the perfect pattern from Petite Stitchery, the Pepper Robe. It actually is a pattern that they retired last month so is not available for purchase any longer. I saw one of the inspiration photos and saw someone else had made it into a beach cover up.
I purchased 2 yards of a light mint green from Milymae fabrics in a sale about the same time. When it arrived it did not seem to be the material I had in mind. Well I was completely wrong - it just needed the perfect fabric pattern match. The pattern was easy to cut and sew together. I did not even mind the gathering at the waist. I no longer dread gathering since I learned how to do it on my serger.
It should have buttons on the front, but I ran out of time before the trip to add them and I am not sure I will at this point. It fits nicely and covers up everything needing coverage when wearing it from the pool to anywhere else.
