Um...those pants were for me

Well the sewing hubris Gods have struck again. I bought cute snowman flannel and thought I would make myself a new pair of sleep pants. What do they say about the best of intentions…my DD now has a new pair of sleep pants!

For some unknown reason I cut the leg width the right dimension but did not cut the rise and hip width correctly. This is what I get for thinking oh I can easily put these pants together in just a hour or so.

I did put my new waistband knowledge into play. I tried drawstring elastic. Nope, I am not a fan. I ended up inserting my regular elastic waistband, making buttonholes in the front and threading twill tape. The wearer can then have pants that will stay up even if you don’t tie the ties. The pants turned out super cute and my DD looks adorable wearing them.
