Winner Winner at the Fair

My DH and I traveled to the County Fair today to see how my entries were received. The Fair does not open until 10 am. We got there about 30 minutes after it opened and went right to the Home Science Building. After looking around for my entries and finding the results we were hungry. Fair food it is then…a little bratwurst and beer.

We first located the purse I had entered. This Fair never has very many sewing entries. I am happy I won a participation ribbon and 3rd Best in Class.

I found 2 of my canned food entries right away. My pickled slaw won Best in Class and Judges Choice.

I suspected the Dr. Pepper jelly might be a winner. Everyone who has tried it has raved about the flavor. It won Judge’s Choice and 2nd Best in Class.

The next two jam entries were eventually located in the refrigerated section - I have no idea why since all the canned goods are shelf stable. The Blueberry Jam won a participation ribbon.

The Pina Colada Jam won Judge’s Choice. It was a risk on the flavor profile. The jam does include white rum but is completely burned off during the jam making process.

I am very happy with my entries and it is always nice to know others besides friends and family think the things you make are worthy of recognition.
