Addition to a Project

I sewed a top last fall. I love the fabric I picked but it just seemed a little short in length to my liking. The gray I used for the neck binding was somewhere in my vast collection of scraps. I finally refound it the other day. After measuring the bottom hem I cut a band for attachment.

It certainly looked better and I thought I will be more likely to wear it during cooler weather but then...

The sleeves looked strange to me as the only part of the garment without a band. Wristbands were cut and attached.

Now it looks a little more like a light sweatshirt, but I think it will get more wear.

On a totally different topic I have been clothes shopping. This is a problem because I can make many of the clothing items I would like to wear. When I look at RTW (ready to wear) clothes I am annoyed. The fit is often not correct and the color selection is not what I want. Being able to sew your own wardrobe can really spoil you for buying clothes. Good thing the summer has arrived and I will hopefully have more sewing time.
