Brand New Month

I finished Shadow Tag by Louise Erdrich. This book had a somewhat surprising ending which lightened it just a little. Again, this is a very dark book, not an easy read. I gave up on The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher. I have never been a big fan of long family dramas in a book.

Four Seasons in Rome: On Twins, Insomnia and the Biggest Funeral in the History of the World by Anthony Doerr. If you have ever lived abroad the feelings of disconnect will seem familiar to you. I have actually read the book the author did finally finish (he wins a year fellowship to work on his writing which is why they are in Rome). It contains excellent descriptions of Rome.

The Starless Sea by Erin Morganstern. This book is not for the faint hearted. It is 15 audio cds! I am reserving judgement. It is good so far but I have only gotten through 2 of the cds so not that far into the book. It is a magical elements book.
