Chocolate Raspberry Jam

I have an older jam book that I bought years ago (250 Home Preserving Favorites by Yvonee Tremblay). It has some of the most delicious and unique jam recipes I have ever tried. One that I made a few years ago and thought I should make again is Chocolate Raspberry Jam.

Many canners believe you cannot can chocolate and in many ways you cannot (you cannot can a chocolate sauce). What you can do is add cocoa to some recipes to get the chocolate taste. I got a good deal on fresh raspberries at Costco this past week. Those are the 2 man ingredients so I was off to make a favorite jam.

Here are the raspberries and chocolate mixture before I add in the liquid pectin. It does make a delicious jam. I always can this in the smallest jars (4 ounce). It is a very rich jam.

Look at the moody picture of the jar! These only go to very special friends.
