Empty Nesters
Well not quite, but sometimes it feels like it. Our DD has started University this week. She is living at home for her first year. She is busy with her friends and class schedule. This means my DH and I are getting the opportunity to spend time together unaccompanied. We even attended a rock concert in the middle of the week. We had to work the next day. I think we might have slightly forgotten we are no longer 20. You know those days when you could go out late at night and then function without a nap on the next day LOL.
It is nice to see the fruits of your parenting journey when your offspring begin to launch in their adult life. It is also interesting because the women on my teaching team are younger than me and all have young children. I well remember those days when it just seemed like you run from one thing to another.
If you live in the united States please enjoy your holiday and long weekend.
