End of May Reading Report

I am on summer vacation so the reading has picked up a pace. I have 2 finishes for the week - The Magnolia Palace by Fiona Davis. Just okay book, I didn't love it but not the worst. Semi-predictable, but a good escape read. I also downloaded and finished Wages of Sin by Kaite Welsh on my Kindle. I had recommended this over a year ago to my local library for purchase. It is a mystery set in Scotland in the late 1890s. The main character is a woman who is pursing a medical degree after a scandal in London. The scandal is hinted at but never clearly defined (you have to read between the lines). This is the first in a series. Not the best book I have ever read but a good summer read.

Hardcover Book

All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda. This is lauded as a psychological thriller. Well I am not too sure because I was confused by the order of the book. It semi-starts at the end of the story and then moves back in time by days. This works except that the last 2 "chapters" move the story forward in time again by a week and then 3 months. I ended up reading from the back of the book to the front because I just found it too confusing otherwise. Interesting concept but just not the right one for me. I found the time movements just too confusing to follow. It kept me from really concentrating on the actual story.

Car Audio

Queen Victoria: Daughter, Wife, Mother, and Widow: Daughter, Wife, Mother, and Widow by Lucy Worsley. I am almost to the end of the book. It has been very enjoyable.
