Finished Halloween Socks

I finished the I'm Batty for Halloween socks and it is not even Thanksgiving yet! I have already blocked them and they are in the sock drawer waiting to be worn.

It is hard to get a true color picture of the orange main color. I actually dyed the yarn myself. I was a long time subscriber to a yarn subscription box/service called Knitcrate (they have since gone out of business). In May of 2020 the company sent bare yarn and packets of Kool-Aid powered drink mix to dye your own yarn. I used the orange to create a color called I called Creamsicle.

The black bits were something I had in my stash. The pattern is from Stone Knits. They are my first pair of colorwork socks. The sizes vary just a bit. After knitting the first sock on 1.25 needles I realized a size 2 needle might work a little bit better. The second sock fits quite nicely. The first sock also fits well enough (especially because I do not want to frog and knit again).

I am quite pleased with my floats inside the socks. Also the first pair of socks where I have done the heel and toe in a different solid color. I was worried I might not have enough orange. So silly because I have half of the skein left. This is more than enough to use in another project.
