First 2024 Sew
I bought some National Park panels from Knitfabric.com quite a while ago. I also got them to send me a matching cotton lycra (this is a service they offer). They sent a white which was the best match.
I decided to make an Aspen Pullover by Peekaboo patterns (the pattern company and fabric online store happen to be owned by the same family). Peekaboo Patterns has a 2024 sewing challenge this year and I wanted to start the challenge with an item from their treasure trove of delights.
I am really happy with this make. It is a very easy pattern that yields wonderful results. Both the panel and the white are cotton lycra. It is not too heavy - in my climate I do not need a heavy sweatshirt very often. The pattern also has a nursing hack if you need it and a cowl neckline if desired.
You might notice the coverstitching on the piece. I love my new Babylock coverstitch machine. You might also notice that I have a body double. My wonderful MIL purchased this for me as a Christmas present. It is so nice to be able to drape items when pinning. It also means maybe no more flat lay photos.
