Holiday Weekend Reading
In the United States Monday was a federal holiday. This meant an extra day added to the weekend. I managed to get a little more reading time. I finished Bellweather Rhapsody by Kate Racculia. It turned out to be a much deeper book than I originally expected. Another surprise was The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James. It took a turn I really was not expecting. I finished listening to Lady Tan's Circle of Women by Lisa See. Another great book. I am on a roll with the reading.
Hardcover
All My Knotted-Up Life: A Memoir by Beth Moore. I am semi-familiar with the author just through general knowledge. The memoir is interesting for a slice of life in the South.
Audio Book
Being Henry by Henry Winkler. If you grew up in the late 1070s you are familiar with the tv show, Happy Days. Henry Winkler was an actor on the show. A great bonus is that he not only wrote his own biography but narrates the audio version. He has a wonderful soothing voice.
Kindle Book
I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika Sanchez. You will need a bit of background in Latina culture to get some of the funnier parts of this book. I thought some lines were laugh out loud funny. It is a Young Adult (YA) novel but does not feel like one.
