Line Up Numbers

This is not the most exciting item I make with my Cricut, but it is the most time saving and most treasured item. Line-up numbers from removable vinyl.

If you have ever asked children to line up you know this can lead to a mad scramble, fights and tears as they all rush to be FIRST. In my teaching journey I learned long ago to assign line order spots to students. It might not be my students favorite way to line up but it sure is for this teacher.

I assign each student in my classroom a number from 1-whatever number of students I am blessed to teach. This number is how they know their line order.

I have the file saved in Cricut Access account and I just recut the numbers at the beginning of each school year. The place in the room where the students line up is tiled so these removable vinyl numbers work perfectly.

I have thought about using other colors, but black hides the dirt from shoes much better than any other color. I simply attach the numbers in numerical order using transfer tape. They last an entire school year. That is saying quite a bit because tiny humans can be a little rough on certain items. The custodian can mop right over them each night. At the end of the school year I can pull them up. I use a scraper from Cricut. Without the scrapper it is too hard to pull them up (this is important because sometimes students want to pull them up). The custodians always wax my floor each summer and this removable vinyl leaves no residue to clean. I do use the Oracal brand of removable vinyl.

The yellow piece is for the line leader, one of the most coveted spots in a school. I believe this is my 3rd or 4th time cutting and attaching these numbers. They work like a charm and make a teacher very happy.
