Making Time
I know everyone these days is talking about self-care. Yes, I believe in self care but I started many years ago. For the past few years, even pre-Covid. I tried to find time in my day each day to engage in a creative outlet. Sometimes this means only 5-10 minutes, but at least it is something. It used to be knitting or crocheting everyday, but that can sometimes be difficult to achieve depending on my work load and after work schedule. Now some days it is just being creative in the kitchen.
For example, the other night I made chocolate chip cookies. i began baking at 7:30 at night and was actually finished and the kitchen was cleaned and put to bed by 9:30. I just made cookies because I wanted to, for no special reason. I was able to deliver them fresh and warm from the oven to my DD while she was working on homework. MY DH was very surprised when he awoke the next morning and found cookies in his lunch.
Was it a grand gesture, no but it fulfilled a creative outlet. Plus we got delicious cookies in the bargain. try to do something creative for yourself everyday. Some may call it self-care. I just call it important to my sanity.
