Mid July Reads
Oops, I had a kindle book to finish so it is actually the only finish I have for the week. Uprooted by Naomi Novik. A fantasy book about witches, wizards and the Woods. It was not too horrible, but not all that great either.
Kindle Ebook
Car Audio
Animal Dreams by Barbara Kingsolver. This book is well written and explores themes of family and love. It is a portrait of a very patient man in love with a woman.
Ipod Audio
State of Wonder by Ann Patchett. Some of the characters in this book are unlikable. It moves along, but sometimes you want to grab the main character and shake her to wake her up a little bit.
Kindle Book
Book of Ages: Life and Opinions of Jane Franklin by Jill Lepore. This is written about the favorite sister of Benjamin Franklin. It is quite a bit of a slow read. The first 30% of the book is all about the missed and unavailable opportunities for her due to her female status in colonial times.
Hardcover Book
The House at Riverton by Kate Morton. I did not make much of any progress in this book due to the kindle deadline for another book.
