New Bags

Well I am still on the elusive hunt for the perfect project bag. I tried 2 different youtube tutorials. One I think might be a winner, the other not so much.

This is the less than favorite one currently. First the tutorial was difficult to follow. The dimensions were not given, you had to stop the video to see whenever the maker showed a ruler. Also the dimensions were in centimeters. I realize the rest of the world runs on the metric system but in the US we really do not especially in my sewing world. Once I finally had stopped and started the video numerous times to get how many pieces to cut and the dimensions I then had to do the math.

I used a heavier weight for the outer layer but it still seems very floppy. It is not important that my project bag stand up straight as a solider on parade, but not flopping over would be nice. This one might be repurposed to hold an embroidery/cross stitch project instead of knitting.

The second attempt went much better. It was not provided as a project bag just a simple bucket bag. The dimensions were given and the directions seemed much clearer. The measurements were in metric but it just seemed easier for me to convert them this time. Maybe because the dimensions were written in the comments along with the number of pieces needed.

The basic materials used were the same. The outer layer is the same as the first just a different color. This bag just seems to stand up better, probably because of the bucket bottom. Honestly this would make a cute little purse too.

This version might be adapted just a tiny bit to make it more project friendly, but I am pleased with the first version. Both bags already have projects inside. After all you cannot have an empty project bag just sitting around.
