New Dress

I bought this fabric a few months ago from FabricMart. I believe it is French Terry. I used to to make a Love Notions Whistler dress. The pattern has either a hood or shawl collar. It can either be a shirt or a dress. I had enough to make the dress length with the hood.

Here is the hood portion of the pattern. I made the bottom band and attached it but took it off since I did not like the feel of it. I did make the cuffs and turned them into thumb hole cuffs.

Since I did like the bottom band I just put in a short hem. If I keep sewing mostly knits I might have to invest in a coverstitch machine.

I might also put a hidden snap in around the hood portion to keep it from pulling open. I will wear it to see where I should place the hidden snap and also to see if I really need a hidden snap.
