New Farm House Skirt

About 6 months ago Cooper Creek Patterns released a Farmhouse Chic skirt designed by Charmed by Ashley. I liked the look of the skirts I saw on my social media feeds so I purchased the pattern upon release.

A month ago when I was in Hobby Lobby looking at their new Fall fabrics I came across a cute fabric made of squares of plaid and denim sewn together. I did not have a plan in mind but bought a few yards. The skirt pattern calls for a heavier weight woven and I thought the fabric and pattern were a good match.

The directions were easy to follow. Charmed by Ashley also released a youtube video of her sew along which I watched.

I liked how the back is an elasticized band. The most expensive and hardest part of the project was the buttons. I found the size and quantity I needed at Joanns. The buttonholes were going great until I ran out of bobbin thread on the last one. It was hard to realign the buttonhole so the last button is a little closer to the 5th button than desired, but it works.

I have discovered my dress form really does not do skirts so I had to do mostly flat lay pictures. The skirt looks much better on a person than laying flat. It will be perfect to wear this fall.
