New Knitting Project

My sister has been requesting a sweater for quite a while. She even bought the yarn she wanted me to use. We finally got in the same state so we could look at patterns. I am using the Schaefer yarn, Elaine in the black colorway to knit the Calidez pattern.

It looks blob-like currently. It is a bottom up in the round sweater. I am knitting this on larger needles and the yarn is a bulky weight so it actually knits much faster than any project I have knit over the past year. 9 inches including the 1x1 ribbing have been completed and I have used up one whole skein. I need to wind another skein to keep the party going.

This is a good thing because the Naughty Sweater has reared its ugly troublesome head again. I was just about to throw it into a bath when I suddenly noticed the dreaded line in the sweater indicating that the colors of the skeins were not matching. This sometimes happens with hand dyed yarn. If you remember i decided against doing alternating rows due to all the other issues this sweater was causing. I never noticed until of course I was done with all the knitting.

At first I thought maybe I could live with it, but knew it would really drive me crazy. Needless to say the Naughty Sweater is in the to be frogged part of the pond. My plan is to frog back to the offending part and do what I should have done in the first place - alternate skeins.

I would like to have this sweater completed by the end of the summer, but you never know.
