New Lunchbox - Part 1
Well I made what I thought would be my new lunch box this summer. I might need a refresher course in how to read finished measurements:( It turned out lovely but way too BIG. The week after I finished that make Ellie & Mac released a pattern, the Take A Break Lunch Bag. It went right into the cart to be purchased. Here is hoping this is an easier sew and I can use the lessons learned in the last make in this new lunch box.
I think in an earlier blog post I wrote about the fabric selected. I cut out all the pieces, including the interfacing. Extra thermal insulation was added to the cut pile, though I might be regretting that when sewing.
I made the side pieces first and installed 2 of the 3 zippers in the bag.
The zippers open into little zippered compartments.
These are the backsides of the zippered portions. Attach the webbing handles was easier with this make. I learned from my first bag to add extra length you can hide in a seam to make sure your straps stay in place.
Rivets were correctly installed to hold the webbing in place and because they look cool. All of this took me a few hours so it was laid aside to finish on another day.
