New to Me Recipe
I tried a new recipe the other night for dinner, Lemon and Rosemary Turkey Meatballs. I have tried other recipes from this site and had good success. My family just did not care all that much for this recipe.
All of the ingredients were at hand, I had ground turkey and had just bought a box of lemons. No fresh herbs so had to settle for dried. I really liked the suggestions the recipe author provided for how to get the meatballs to stick together. I also liked rolling them in a small amount of flour before I fried them. My meatballs did keep their shape quite nicely.
The sauce was very thick and the author did mention this issue in her blog post. I think the main issue is that my family just really does not enjoy ground turkey. I use it in meatballs mostly where I can smother it with a flavorful sauce. Otherwise we just find the taste and texture too bland. This will not be a keeper for my family but that doesn't mean your family might not k=love it. the recipe is well written and easy to follow. The ingredients are not hard to obtain. It makes a nice main course with the addition of some rice, a vegetable and a side salad.
