Newest Winter Dress
Well I am really not sewing for the current season. The pattern is from a new to me PDF pattern company, George & Ginger Patterns. I bought the Rival Dress due to the design. I wanted to use up some of the sweatshirt fleece I had on hand.
The construction of the pockets is easy and makes nice deep pockets. I serged the side and front pieces together for a cleaner look.
The dress was easy to sew and went together perfectly.
There are three collar options and I am sure you already know the one I picked. I even lined this hood.
The main fabric I purchased at Hobby Lobby last Fall and the blue was a lighter weight sweatshirt fleece i picked up about a year ago at Joanns. It was on the clearance rack and had a few colors. I bought it all - it seems like very nice sweatshirt fleece and that can be difficult to source. It was the perfect color combo.
I made the 3/4 sleeve length and I really like the banded cuffs and hem.
I am very pleased with the make and pattern. Another is already being planned. The sizing is spot on but I think I should have sized up just a bit due to the non stretch of the sweatshirt material. It is wearable but just a little snugger than I like. I already have plans to make another.
It is not sweater knits but I am counting it as a make toward my August goals.
