Ouch!

We think our cat got stung by a bee the other morning. It was quite early in the morning (around 5:30 am), it was still not quite light. We were eating breakfast when all of a sudden we heard the most scary cry from the cat in the backyard. We went running out, she was puffed up and when my DH picked her up he said her heart was racing. We could not find anything that would have attacked her (our first thought based on the cry she made). She had been walking on the fence right under a tree. We locked her inside for the rest of the day. Later we found a dead bee by the outside door. We think she may have gotten stung and carried the bee in on her fur. The bee of course lost her life when she stung.

No other ill effects, but it gave us all a scary start to the morning. She is now back to surveying her kingdom.
