Thanksgiving Reads
No real turkeys here! I finished Ordinary Grace by William Kent Kruger. Just as well written as I thought the first time I read the book. I also finished A Town Like Alice by Nevil Shute. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It is just a lovely love story. When you first begin the book you will think a love story, really? Keep going it gets more like a real love story as it goes further into the book. It is about 2 ordinary people who fall in love under very strained circumstances and make a live for themselves and their family. I tried reading the book The Memoirs of Stockholm Sven by Nathaniel Ian Miller. I had to stop after a few chapters. I can only handle one super dark book at a time.
Hardcover Book
The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher. This keeps popping up on my reading feeds. Well hopefully they are not wrong. I am reading the large print edition so it is a beast of a book.
Car Audio
Shadow Tag by Louise Erdrich. Whew, this is a very dark book about a failing marriage (and so much more). Now I know Louise Erdrich is not known for her happy uplifting novels, but this is even really dark for her. The characters in this book should have never married and certainly should never have had children.
