The Reading Week
I finished A Game of Fear by Charles Todd. Excellent selection as always. I also began and finished a kindle book, Together Tea by Marjan Kamali. It is a book about a mother and daughter and also the immigrant experience. At first I was not too sure but ended up quite enjoying the book.
Kindle Ebook
Prague Winter: A Personal Remembrance and War, 1937-1948 by Madeline Albright. No further along, still stuck in 1942.
We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves by Karen Joy Fowler. I am not too far into the book, but it is holding my interest so far.
Car Audio
The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles. I am a little over 1/2 through this book. He is a writer I really enjoy reading. I like the different viewpoints of the characters.
Ipod Audio
The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. I have listened to 30% of the book. We are now into the actual story of Dinah, not her mothers. This book contains descriptions of what life was like for women in Biblical times at least according to the author. I also find the portions where she just generally glosses over plural marriage a little less than true to life. I find it hard to believe that the sisters experienced little to no jealously over sharing the same husband.
