Advent Knit Alongs

Well it appears that I really like sock Advent knitting since I purchased 3 different sock Advent skeins. I find socks more manageable to knit as an Advent then a large project. See the Anthology Throw which is an Advent project that has taken me 6 months to complete. No 24 days activity here folks.

I purchased the striped Advent sock yarn from The Cozy Knitter last year and loved the colors. I was able to get 2 pairs of socks from the skeins. When the call went out this summer I clicked and added it to my cart.

I also purchased the Freckled Whimsy striping Advent last year (but did not have time to knit it up). I purchased this years again because even though I have not yet knit 2023 I know I love her yarn.

A not new to me dyer, Rising Tides Fiber Co. also offered a selection of sock Advents. I picked Candyland - a favorite game of my DD when she was younger. In fact I still play the game with my students (I have changed the cards to help them practice shapes, addition, letter sounds and sight words).

This skein had quite the adventure. It was shipped by the dyer to arrive in plenty of time. I received the shipping notification from UPS it was on its way. Everything was fine until…I suddenly checked on the shipping status and it stated delivery unknown:( I was waiting to see if UPS could get their act together when the dyer contacted me to let me know she had been informed by UPS the package was lost somewhere in the IL shipping warehouse. She graciously offered to send me another set, instead of a refund. (The new one was sent via the USPS which say what you will about government issues always delivers and does a great job!) It arrived in perfect time and condition. We both filled out all the paperwork so at least she can get a refund on the shipping costs and the price of the yarn from UPS.

Now I just have to wait until December 1st to rip into the packages!
