Saturday Project Update

In between working on changing over the blog and my domain name (all of which takes an impossibly long, annoying and frustrating time)I did some knitting.

Anthology Throw: I have added mini skein #16 and it is about halfway added. Not sure I will make monthly goal. I knit and knit every evening but there seems to be a tremendous lack of progress on each project.

Socks: I am almost to the tow decreases and the first of the pair will be complete. I really enjoy working with the Cozy Knitter sock base. The colors are calming and wonderful.

Crochet: I finally got out all the colors I want to use. I then plugged them into the pattern following the designers color patterns. She used 9 colors and I am only using 8. Once I settle down to crochet this should go faster than knitting. I believe I am a faster crocheter than a knitter. OF ocurse usually I am using larger yarns when crocheting. Fingering yarn is nice but it takes a long time to see any progress when it is in use.

Charity Knitting: This only gets worked on every Sunday (for the most part). I still have less than half of the skein left to use. This looks lovely but the dark yarn is a killer with my old eyes.

New Work on an Old WIP: I had grand plans to knit the Stephen West MKAL2023. I had the yarn all picked out even before the MKAL began (who am I), well….I finally wound all the skeins on my wool winder 2 weeks ago (yes, I realize it is now 2024 and he has just begun another MKAL). Anywoo, I cast on and here the wheels fell off again. If I did not love the yarns I selected and was not so stubborn this would have gone into the never to be even completed project land. I have cast this thing on 3 times. I am hoping this third and last cast on will be the one that works. Every time I work on a Stephen West project I swear to myself never again. I like a little challenge in my knitting but not on every 10 rows. I did attempt his sock along this year but threw in the yarn pretty quickly after I realized I would be learning something like 40 new techniques on a simple pair of socks. The yarns I am using are mostly from Knitcrate.
