Week 26 of YOP 14
It is back to school tomorrow. I do not mind. I enjoy my job and do miss my students when I do not see them for a few weeks. Also there are less than 80 days left in the school year! I am going to review my December goals and set my new January goals.
Knitting Plans/Goals
December goals: Finish the Anthology throw by adding mini skeins #22, 23 & 24. Complete 2 pairs of socks (1 for my daughter and another for me)- these will be Advent projects.
Results: I finished the the Anthology Throw on 12/31. Casting off over 1000 stitches takes a minute or two! I completed a pair of socks for my daughter.
January Goals: Complete at least 1 pair of socks for me (I have both the Advent strip and Rhinebeck Roomies on the needles). I would also like to finish the Merry Making Cowl. I am currently on day 10 of 12. This is stranded colorwork so not a super fast knit.
Sewing Plans/Goals
December goal: I would like to concentrate on using flannel I have in my stash to sew. Sew a few skirts hopefully using wovens, but knits will work too.
Review: I did sewing but it all seemed to be holiday related. No clothing for me was completed. Flannel was used but it was actually not in my stash.
January goal: New year, new undergarments. Undies and maybe try my hand at sewing a slip.
Embroidery/Cross Stitch Plans/Goals
December goal: work at least 1 hour a week on the project.
Review: I would like to say that embroidering is my favorite part of the week, but that is not true. I do enjoy the process but yarn is really my favorite toy at the moment.
January goal: Continue with a hour a week. The piece is making slow but steady progress using this method.
Crochet Plans/Goals
December goals: Crochet at least half way up the sides of the purse. You crochet all sides of the purse in one round so it takes a little while to get a round complete.
Review: This project was not worked on at all in the month of December. Too many other shiny objects caught my attention.
January goal: I want to carve out a dedicated evening to work on this project to move it along. Maybe this will be my Monday night making.
Cricut Plans/Goals
December goal: Maybe a few Christmas gifts and cards will be completed.
Review: No Christmas gifts were crafted but about 6 cards were so I guess it equals out.
January goal: My DH bought me an ipad to use with my Cricut. I realized part of my issue of not using the machine was having to do everything on my phone to control the cuts. I am still playing with the ipad to see if I can get it to function with Maker. I will state that the machine itself works like a dream but the app to control the machine is not highly rated for a reason. I do have hope that it might be improving this year. The company has really improved the website so they are headed in the right direction.
