2nd Sewing FO of 2024
At least a year ago I made the Greenstyle Alta sweatshirt dress. It turned out stunning and is so comfy. The fabric is a French Terry I bought from Fabric Mart (probably about 2 years ago). I believe I got a great deal on it because even after the dress I had over a yard and half left. I have been meaning to revisit the fabric and use it in another make.
This is the year! I used it to make myself an Ellie & Mac Adult Going Home Sweater. This can also be made into a dress and I have plans (she mutters). I did not have enough for a dress version and I also already have a dress from a different pattern in this fabric.
The fabric is a dream to sew, though it does tend to like to curl at the edges. Lots of pinning/clipping must be done before you sew. I also baste each seam on my machine to make sure everything is aligned.
The color is stunning in person. Every time I wear the dress I made last year I get lots of compliments on the color of the dress.
I nested the seams on the cuffs. Not only do they align but just by chance the color scheme seemed to work also.
This is the second item in my 2024 Sewing Challenge. I colored in the safety pin just above the pair of scissors. I can foresee this one being on high rotation in the wardrobe this winter.
