3rd charity knit of 2024
I am not sure what I was thinking the last time I stocked up on Red Heart Super Saver. This is the acrylic yarn I buy when it is on sale for my charity knitting. It is not the softest yarn ever produced, but does seem a little softer after washing. It washes and dries beautifully and is long wearing. These charity knit items will most likely suffer abuse when in use so they need to be long lasting.
I bought a skein of white! Probably not the best color to wear while working on a ship. Nevertheless I knit it into a striped hat.
I thought I had finished all the red striped yarn. When I was vacuuming the sofa the other day I found a small ball of the same red colorway that has slipped down the side.
The pattern is the Seafarer's Watch cap by the Christmas at Sea program of the Seaman's Church Institute.
