9th FO Sewing Project

On my social media feeds I always seeing posts from people who find great bits of material in the clearance at their local Walmart. I never seem to have this "luck." It might help if I was more than an occasional Walmart shopper (it is not my favorite store for many reasons). Well about a month or so ago I was wondering around the store looking for something for school actually and lo and behold I found some fleece in the clearance bin.

I purchased the Patterns for Pirates Half Zip Hale pattern when it was released. I thought the material and pattern would be a great match. The fabric did not have the correct amount of stretch for the pattern but I made it work.

It is very warm. The directions were wonderful and easy to follow.

Of course I did the hooded version. The hood is unlined - honestly the majority of hoods I add to clothes are unlined.

The shoulders look more dropped than they really are - they are slightly dropped on me when wearing.

Here it is all zipped up. I believe on the next one I might add a zipper flap so the zipper does not bother my skin when wearing.

It was a great make and I see more in my future.
