Hot Cross Buns

For Easter I wanted to have Hot Cross Buns - well no one near me sells anything so delightful. I had to make my own. I used a very easy recipe.

Here is the ball of dough after it was mixed. I only put raisins in the buns. The dough is sweeter (than bread dough), more like a dough I would use for sweet rolls.

After the first rise I placed the rolls into a glass pan for the second rise.

Fresh from the oven. I did put crosses on the top and then made a simple glaze for the finishing touch.

The buns were delicious. A lovely Easter treat. The family was humming the hot cross buns song as they were devoured.
