A Butterick Sew

Back in the day both my MIL and I both made a dress pattern numerous times, Butterick 6760 copyright is 2000. It is a relatively easy pattern with some very cute details. It is one of the only Big 4 patterns I kept in my collection. I also used a cute flannel fabric from my collection.

I was very happy with my collar.

I did some modifications to the pattern/making order.

The directions had the buttonholes as the last item completed on the pattern. Um..no thank you. If I am going to mess up the buttonholes I would like to be at a stage where I could maybe fix the disaster without tearing up the entire project.

The front had an inverted pleat aka tuck. Those went well.

The back has a kick pleat. I also finished the edge seams with my serger. This dress is made from flannel and flannel loves to unravel and make strings all over the place.

The dress does not have pockets! One of the reasons you sew is because you can add features. I love anything with a pocket so I used a pocket piece from another pattern and attached them to the sides before I sewed the skirt.

I am quite pleased with the resulting dress. The fabric is super cute and warm and fuzzy. I bought it years ago from Joanns when they were still selling good quality flannel.

I just need to add four buttons and it will be complete.
