A Sewing Tool

One of the best sewing tools I have currently is called a Hot Ruler. If you have ever tried to iron in a hem allowance when sewing you need this ingenious little tool. I have a hem gauge from my mother's sewing kit. It is metal. Metal plates and ironing over them lead to hot fingers.

I love this tool so much I asked for and was a gifted a smaller version. I use that one with quilting allowances. It is a tiny tool but it really makes your ironing and sewing just that much easier and enjoyable.
