Back to the Socks
I started a pair of Forest Socks in September. I do really like the pattern, but it seems to tight up tighter than my usual gauge (don't even think of asking if I did a gauge swatch - don't you know me better than that by now!). I could hardly get them over my foot let alone over the ankle.
They are meant for my sister who has bigger feet than me so this would need to be rethought. I put them in knitting time out until I could finish other projects that were behaving themselves.
I frogged what I had the other day and began again. I am making the largest size. Oops, if they happen not to fit the recipient all will not be wasted because hopefully they will fit me.
The yarn is a Felici self striping ball. It is kinky from the frogging. So far they are moving along nicely. Not far enough along yet to do any kind of try on. I have basically just finished the cuff. Am now working on the leg. These are worked top down. I can do a kitchner stitch at the toe, I usually just prefer not to.
