Vanilla Extract

I have been making my own vanilla extract for a few years. It is delicious and honestly one of the easiest things you can make. It simply takes quality vanilla beans and time.

I just bottled the last batch I had begun in May of this year. Vanilla extract must be kept in a brown bottle because it is light sensitive. I use the cheapest bottle of vodka I can find.

If you do a Google search there are lots of tutorials to follow. You should remember that this vanilla will be stronger than any you can buy in a store. This is not a problem for me because I love the taste of vanilla.

It makes a great holiday present. People will think it took a lot of work. You don't have to tell the them truth.
