Chicken Stroganoff

This is a different way to prepare chicken on the stove top. I have made it a few times and it is always eaten without complaint. It is a pretty basic recipe but quite delicious. It is important to use the sherry in the recipe. By the way you should never buy cooking sherry, that is just a vile drink. I just buy a regular bottle of cream sherry from the liquor store. Once it is in your cupboard you will find it adds quite a nice and delicate flavor to many sauces.

I use mostly sour cream with a little bit of heavy cream mixed in the for the sauce. I do not add the nutmeg at the end. I usually forget anyway and I am not sure my audience would appreciate the nutmeg touch.

It probably could look prettier when plated but it is always inhaled at the table.
