Christmas Eve Cast on Completed

I cast on a new sock pattern on Christmas Eve, the Garland Socks from lolodidit. They have been finished for at least a week of more but I finally wore them out in the wild.

After about 3 weeks

I really enjoyed this pattern. The pattern has a right and left foot pattern. I knit them on 9 inch circulars. At first I was not too sure I would like the small circumference but it turns out I liked them just fine. I cannot knit socks on double pointed needles - my stitches all fall off and I am always losing the "extra" needle. I usually use magic loop, but thought I would experiment.

Right sock done

They seemed to fly off the needles at times. Certainly they were knit faster than other sock pairs i have completed. In between knitting on them I completed the knitting project for my father and worked on my Calico Quilt Shawl.

I have even washed and blocked the socks. I was impressed with the fit of the sock. The next time I knit them I think I will add a princess bottom. A princess bottom on a sock is when the knit rows are on the outside and the purls rest against the foot bottom. For those of us with delicate feet.

2 socks - a pair:)
