New Yarn Goodies
I got some yarn goodness and made some yarnie extras myself this week. First I received my monthly yarn subscription from Yarnable. The package arrived with all the squishness you would want.
The colorway was a blue/green hue. The extras included a tape measure, spa supplies, a reusable kitchen towel, and the postcard of the items with a coupon for free shipping in case I wanted to purchase more yarn.
Now that I am working on the perfect sock recipe for me I hopefully soon will be able to start knitting up some of this delicious yarn.
As with any hobby there are lots of "extras" you can buy to enhance your experience. I have never been all that interested in fancy stitch markers. Of course, now that I am following more knitters on social media I am seeing adorable stitch markers. I checked the prices on some of them and thought cute, but not for $5 plus shipping. After receiving one or two in some knit subscription boxes I thought I could probably make my own. Off to Google I went which lead to a few youtube videos.
I was at the craft store the other day and I noticed small lobster claw clips and charms were all on sale. I bought a few of each.
I realized after making them the lobster claws might be a little heavier than needed. These fastenings are made to be worn with necklaces.
These were the easiest to make. I simply had to open the ring on the charm, add the lobster claw and then close the ring. I didn't think too bad for my first attempt. The next time I will be on the lookout for lighter lobster claws and some lighter charms.
