Crochet Avoidance?

Is crochet avoidance a thing? Well it is now. I chained on a Christmas at Sea Mariner scarf. In my defense I have not been doing a lot of charity crafting so far this year. I virtuously decided to remedy that issue. The other crochet projects I already have waiting in the wings in various stages of completion should just remain quiet.

Before we go much further down the excuses highway can we just take a moment to appreciate the beautiful yarn winding I completed on this skein.

The yarn behaved itself so well and look at how beautiful it wound up with my ball winder. Anyway this is a burnt orange kind of color. I believe I used part of the skein in another project at some point. I am sure it was a hat of some kind for the Christmas at Sea program.

I did achieve the pattern gauge. I was not too worried about getting gauge - it's a scarf. I figured as long as it does not look like it would not even fit a baby doll I am good to go!

A close up of the stich pattern. It is a super easy pattern to memorize. I have only completed 3 rows and I already have it memorized. This is a perfect car riding or waiting around project.

As an aside I can spot and correct a crochet mistake at 5 yards with little to no drama. Knitting issues still sometimes leave me stumped. Hence the reason the Stephen West socks are currently in knitting time out until I am over my mad.
