Current Knitting Projects

I have 2 projects on the needles. One that will probably finish within a week and the other might be a long term project.

I finally got a response from my father about the dickey I knit him for Christmas. He has been wearing it constantly for the past 3 weeks. Once I heard that I began another.

This version will be in a lovely cream color. The yarn is acyrlic because it will be washed and not by someone who will always take the best care of "special" yarns.

Since casting on I have been making steady progress. I have completed the front portion cast off and on for the neck hole. I am now knitting the back before picking up the neckband stitches to knit the neck portion.

My other long term project is using bits and bobs of sock yarn. You know these little bits that are leftover after finishing a pair of socks. I saw a completed version of this on a youtube podcast and I thought it looked lovely. It is the Calico Quilt Shawl.

The joining of each color is quite ingenious. I am remembering to weave in my ends so I don't have a large chore when the object is completed.

I began my 4th join last night. You would think I would have more sock yarn available. I might have to stash dive to find where I hid all the bits and bobs I have. This is a very relaxing knit - all garter stitch.
