End of June Reading
Had a few finishes this week. Miss Buncle's Book by D.E. Stevenson. A delightful easy read where not much happens, but it is just an enjoyable read (even if the ideas in the book are a little dated - after all it was written in the 1930s). Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. A wonderfully written book about families, friends and community. I also read the book, I'd Give Anything by Maria de los Santos. It was just an okay but quick read. A woman done wrong by her husband and family.
Hardcover Book
A Spool of Blue Thread by Anne Tyler. This book has not grabbed my attention very quickly. So far I sincerely dislike one of the characters - what a selfish child/adult. This book deals with family relationships, including siblings.
Kindle Book
The Book of Lost and Found by Lucy Foley. Setting is England and concerns a young woman who discovers secrets about her late mother's life. It is well written and does keep your interest.
Car Audio
Stone Blind by Natalie Haynes. This book is just a delight to listen to - the myths are retold from a women's point of view. The Gods from Olympus do not come off better for the retelling.
