End of May Reading Report

I finished The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson (don't recommend), Before She Was Helen by Caroline B. Cooney (recommend), and For Whom The Book Tolls by Laura Gail Black (recommend). My biggest finish was The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. Finally after many months. I'm not sure who will be more excited about this finish, me or you the reader since you will no longer have to read about this book. Whew, that was a lot of reading completed.

Kindle Ebook

The Signature of All Things by Elizabeth Gilbert. A book that starts out well but gradually leads you into areas that you just need to skim as you read. If the editor had taken out all the references to masturbation and other assorted unneeded sexual issues this would be a much more enjoyable and entertaining book. Also the whole discussion about the races could have been excised as well. I realize it is historical fiction but I'm not sure we need to read all of this.

Car Audio

The Secret Diary of Henrick Groen 83 1/4 years Old by Henrick Groen. This is a very well written book. It covers a year in a OAP (Older Adult Pensioner) home. The title character has quite a bit to "say" about aging.

Ipod Audio

Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr. This is a strange book in which the characters do seem to interact or at least appear in the same areas. The only thing is that they appear in the same areas centuries apart. It is a very hard book to describe in just a few sentences.
