Extra Pant Sewing
I made a couple of other pairs of pants while trying to perfect a pj pant. My DD loves to wear sweatshirt shorts to sleep. I never understood the appeal, but now I do!
This is a pair of shorts made from the Ellie & Mac Good Vibes Jogger pattern. I made the shorts to test out the rise in the crotch area. This by the way is a good plan to try out a new pants pattern. If you make a pair of shorts from the pants pattern you get the rise issue settled and any other waist fit issues. Now these are way too short for me to wear comfortably outside of my house, but they are quite a delight for sleeping.
Once I had tried the shorts I made an actual pair of joggers from the pattern.
I do need to add a bit of elastic to the yoga waistband but these will be perfect come winter for lounging around the house. I can see myself making more of these. Yes, the pattern comes with pockets!
The next pair was the newest pants pattern from Sinclair Patterns, the Dune pants. I like Sinclair patterns because they always provide 3 versions of the same PDF pattern and one of them is a petite. No modifications on the rise or length needed.
These also turned out quite nicely. On my first pair I made the patch pockets only. The pattern includes inseam pockets and also cargo pockets for the pants legs.
I want to make more of these pants using different material. This pair will be perfect for lounging around the house.
