Finished Knitting

I finished the dickey I have been knitting for my father. It is already in the mail winging its way to him.

It turns out he has a large head. When I picked up the stitches to knit the collar I went up 2 needle sizes to give it a little more room. I also bound off the last 2 rows with a needle 2 sizes larger than called for in the pattern.

The yarn used was Lion Brand Wool Ease in the Fisherman colorway. The yarn is quite nice to knit with and washes up very well.

Well then, my needles were a little empty so I joined a weekend sock knitting challenge. I did not have to knit a pair of socks in a weekend, just at least cast them on. I have been wanting to "perfect" at least one sock pattern so they will actually fit me. I currently am completing a gauge swatch for a plain vanilla top down sock.

I would have had to swatch no matter what since the yarn band has no gauge listed. I am almost done knitting my 4 inch swatch to figure out the stitches per inch which will help me with the sock "recipe."
