Last of April Reading
Goodreads is still very happy with my reading schedule. I completed The Guncle by Stephen Rawley. The book was a very surprising read. I thought it would be light reading but was much heavier than the cover led you to assume. The Chilbury Ladies Choir by Jennifer Ryan. The ending was a little rushed and maybe too tied up in a ribbon with some finding happy endings and others just seem to be dangling. The Temple House Vanishing by Rachel Donahue. I don't recommend unless you are a gothic book fan.
Kindle Ebook
We Are Never Meeting in Real Life by Samantha Irby. The writing is good (but be forewarned there are naughty words in the book). She is a black feminist lesbian with a lot of important things to say.

All the Ways We Said Goodbye by Beatriz Williams, Lauren Willig, and Karen White. I am moving along in this book quite nicely. All the stories are winding along. It would probably be better if the women could just have all the exciting adventures they have in the book without chasing after men and swooning.

The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. The tribe seems to keep moving around in ancient lands and lots of family dissension. The men have all the power in this book.
Hardcover Book
Furious Hours: Murder, Fraud and the Last Trial of Harper Lee by Casey Cep. The book is divided into 3 sections. I found the first and second sections quite interesting. I am in the 3rd section currently and the book is dragging on for me.
The Last Ballad by Wiley Cash. A book about a strike in a textile mill in North Carolina in the late 1920s. I believe it might be a fictionalized account of actual events. The grinding poverty of the workers is overwhelming. If you are not a fan of labor unions this book is not for you.
