Last Reading Report of the Year

I finished listening to The Vaster Wilds by Lauren Groff. This is a difficult book to write a snyposis for - I will just leave it as a very well written book. I also finished reading Pineapple Street by Jenny Jackson. A great holiday read where you do not want something too heavy to weigh you down.

Hardcover

The Magician's Assistant by Ann Patchett. This is back at my house, but still not being read:(

True Biz by Sara Novic. A book about a deaf day and boarding school that is facing issues regarding closure. The main characters are all hearing impaired. I do not believe I have ever read a book with a deaf main character before. The chapters are interspersed with small items regarding deaf culture and sign language. I must admit such ignorance on this topic. It is not the best written book I have ever read (seems a little too hip and way too many tangents in the book- anarchy, death of a parent, fraught mother daughter relationships, teenagers falling in love, the education system to name but a few), but not the worst either.

Audio Book

The Garden of Evening Mists by Tan Twan Eng. The listening has slowed a little due to knitting time and vlogmas watching.
